Coaching and Games Development Committee

Programme of Work

Primary Schools
Core Primary Schools - St. Laurence’s, Oatlands Primary, San Treasa Mt.Merrion, Hollypark BNS, Carysfort Primary, Guardian Angels.
• Weekly Coaching sessions carried out in Schools in Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie & Ladies Football
• Coaching carried out with 1st class, 2nd class, 3rd class, 4th class, 5th class & School Teams
• Assistant Coaches to the Club Coach – Paul Devlin, Donal Mc Govern, Eoin de Paor & Darren Magee (current Dublin Senior Footballer)
• Local Primary School Competitions in conjunction with Cuala & Bray Emmets G.A.A. Clubs held in May (20 local Primary Schools)
• Skill Competitions
• Coaching also carried out in Our Lady’s Grove Primary School, St. Raphaela’s Girls Primary School, Mt. Anville Girls Primary.
• Annual Dinner held in Clubhouse for all the local Primary & Secondary School Teachers involved in Coaching & Promoting Gaelic Games

Secondary Schools
Local Secondary Schools - St.Benildus, Oatlands, Coláiste Eoin, Clonkeen, Coláiste Isogain, St.Raphaela’s
Transition Year Coaching Programme - Coaching course carried out with T.Y. Students. To complete the course the students have to carry out 6 Coaching Sessions in local Primary Schools
• First Year Football Competition held in conjunction with Dublin County Board
• First Year Hurling Competition
• Referee’s Course

Coach Education
• Annual Football Foundation Level Coaching Course
• Annual Hurling & Camogie Foundation Level Coaching Course
• Level 1 Coaching Course’s, Football & Hurling (Dublin County Board)
• Workshops/Seminars/Guest Coaches e.g. First Aid, SAQ, Core Strength
• Coaching Articles for Macalla (Club Magazine)

Club Coaching
• Weekly Meetings with Club Coaches to implement Club Coaching Plan
• Liase with Coiste (Juvenile) Committee
• Development of Club Coaching Plan for Gaelic Football & Hurling

Club Coaching
• Campa na nÓg (Easter Camp), Hurling/Camogie and Gaelic Football
• Mini All-Ireland Tournaments, Gaelic Football & Hurling Week long competition held in June at Glenalbyn for Boys aged 7 –12 Matches played each evening: 4.30 – 8.30pm Football week: 500 children, 6 divisions, 42 teams, 4 pitches Hurling week: 350 children, 3 divisions, 24 teams, 3 pitches
• Free Daily Coaching for Boys aged 7-12 during the month of July in Silverpark. Hurling 11am-1pm, Football 1pm-3pm
• Schools of Excellence for Boys aged 13-16 during July, Football & Hurling
• Club GAA Summer Camps in August, boys & girls aged 7 - 12 1 week Gaelic Football, 1 week Hurling & Camogie
• All-Star Weekend in November, Guest Coaches for Under 12 Panels
