BIG WEEKEND FOR HAWK-EYE AND SEÁN DONNELLY

Normally one associates Doves with peace but in this case it could be a "Hawk" that helps end the GAA's recurring and fractious decision-making situation in/around the square! Kilmacud clubman, Seán Donnelly, has been leading a Croke Park committee for the past few months to check out the viability of the much-vaunted "Hawk-Eye" technology. Their eagerly awaited findings will be presented to the GAA's Management Committee at its 2-day meeting today and tomorrow. According to Lisa Clancy, the GAA's Director of Communications, any decision on the use of score-detection technology will first depend on how well the presentation is received by Management Committee.
"We would hope that there would be some decision made this weekend," she said, "but like everything else, queries do arise from time to time, and some clarification may be sought and certain other questions may need to be answered before the thing proceeds."
We wish Seán and his team every success with this important work.
