SANTA VISITS CROKES NURSERY!
This year's visit had a more 'agricultural ' theme, as Santa Claus arrived to the paddock in a big blue tractor on Saturday last to the delight of approximately 400 children in the hurling and football nurseries. The big man walked around the paddock and spoke to the boys before heading up to his grotto in the clubhouse in the back of the tractor.
The under 5 hurlers were the first to head in to see Santa and tell him what they would like for Christmas after which Santa gave them all a lovely gift bag.
The U6 and U7 boys then followed in small groups with those waiting their turn playing novelty games in the paddock or main pitch. Santa showed great patience and never took a break all morning as he didn't want to keep any of the boys waiting too long. There was a great atmosphere in the club and all headed home with a bit of early Christmas cheer.
Many thanks to all those who assisted in this event, parents and mentors who helped with the crowd control and othere duties. Particular thanks to Fiona Hayes and Frances Herlihy who ran the show with great aplomb and obviously a great big thank you to the big man himself and his helpers.
Happy Christmas to all Crokes members.
