Inters Win - Kilmacud Crokes 1-15, St Sylvesters 1-8

Body

Our Intermediates recorded another win in AHL4 on Wednesday evening (9th June 2010) at Malahide.

Played under ideal conditions on a beautiful surface Crokes emerged comfortable winners in the end despite losing a seven point half-time lead when Sylvesters came back to level matters midway through the second half but Crokes got on top again and finished very well. The most pleasing aspect of the night was the introduction of six current minors who performed very well. Surely this must auger well for the future of hurling within the club. These were Sean Garvey, Gary Melican, Mark O’Dwyer, Enda Grogan, who all started, and substitutes Alex Pilkington and Jonathan Hayes.

Declan Brown led the line and recorded a tally of eleven points all coming from frees. Brian Hanamy was solid at centre back as was Dave Canny and Mark O’Dwyer had a brilliant game at corner forward. He showed great maturity for a lad so young. Crokes led at half time by 1-5 to 0-1.
