Under 21 B's qualify for County Final

The Under 21 B's rumble on and qualify for next weeks Under 21 C Championship Final. Playing against game neighbours Naomh Olaf, the first half was a tight affair with Crokes stuttering and failing to convert their possession into scores.  Thankfully Captain Richie Tighe was on fire from the deadball and converted 4 frees & contributed one from play, which added to Oran's long range point & a good point from Mark was Crokes 7 point tally for the first half.  The defence, led by the half back line of Cian, Stephen & Karl were very tight & limited Naomh Olaf to one point in the opening 30 minutes.

 

Manager Bill O'Carroll had some harsh words to say at half time, but it was Olaf's who controlled the early exchanges in the second half and after three minutes had the ball in the back of the Crokes net. Riche quickly responded with another converted free, but few scoring opportunities presented themselves to either side until 16 minutes into the half, Daire scored a fine individual goal. Crokes then took control of the game and added another 1-5 in the closing 14 minutes, a great goal from Alex along with two points, another point from Mark, a converted 65 metre free by Ken & Crokes scoring was fittingly completed by Richie with a great point from play.  Following the puck out the final sounded with Crokes finishing up winners with a 2-13 to 1-1 scoreline. All through the half, the backs played well and were instrumental in setting up scoring opportunities for the forwards.
