Inters' Convincing Win

The Intermediate Championship commenced on Wed 11th May 2011 with an excellent 3-15 to 0-12 win against Round Towers in the Community Centre Clondalkin.  After a shaky start which saw Towers go into a four points to one early lead, Crokes started to play and were leading by 1-9 to 0-8 at half-time, thanks mainly to the accuracy of Fergal Armstrong who got 1-5, the goal coming from a 21 yard free

The second half was totally dominated by Crokes.  Fergal continued his good form and finished with a tally of 2-8.  The defence was solid throughout with Dave Canny, Ray Mangan and Damien Byrne to the fore.  Hugh Gannon and Mark Coghlan ruled midfield.  Up front Fergal Armstrong, Conor Sheehan and Alan Tiernan had excellent games.  Sean Garvey was very safe in goals and his puck outs were long and accurate.  Our next match is against St Pergerines on Sat next and that should be the focus
