Under 15B's Make It Four Out Of Four
Pitch No 14 St Anne’s Park was the venue for the Division 3 under 15 league game between Crokes B and Naomh Barrog on Tuesday 17th May 2011. The visitors opened the scoring with a point. Soon after Barrog goaled. Crokes pulled two points back before the home team edged ahead again only for Crokes to reel them in. Barrog made it 1-2 to 0-4 and there it remained until the break.
Playing with the slight incline and whatever cross breeze was blowing, on this sizeable pitch, the Stillorgan lads had every reason to be confident as the second tranche threw in. However the Kilbarrack side were first to score. Undaunted, the Kilmacud team dug in and the turning point came with a well taken Paul Comerford goal midway through the half. This put them a point ahead and from there they ground their way home point by point, two of these being excellent long range frees from the same Paul. In a match where the entire Crokes defence was outstanding others to shine included goalkeeper Cillian Fleming, full back Matthew Redmond, half backs Andrew Ahern and Chris Kealy and midfielder Niall Sweeny, who worked tirelessly and unselfishly. This was four wins from four for Crokes in the league to date. Next up are St Sylvesters on Sunday 22nd May 2011.
