Good Win For Junior E's

Body

The Junior E’s pulled off a great win on Tuesday 21st June 2011 against a much fancied Clanna Gael team in the AHL8. Clanna Gael were six from six coming into the game with Crokes only barely managing to pull together 15 players that included a few nursing injuries. With some serious effort displayed by all, and helped in some way by the wintery conditions, Crokes won by a point 1-8 to 0-10.

Crokes went into half time down a point at 6 points to 1-2, the scores coming in the first half from Ian O’Keeffe and Shane O’Keeffe with a point a piece with Brian Horrigan netting the goal. Crokes started strongly in the second half with a great individual score from Daragh Brennan. This was followed up by some excellent free taking from Shane O’Keeffe in the heavy rain. Crokes survived some scares with the home team missing numerous frees. With seconds remaining Neale Martin put over a fantastic point and with the home team missing an easy 40 yard free with the last puck of the game, Crokes scraped through with a one point victory. Great team effort all round.
