Under 16's Overcome Na Fianna

Body
While the league title is now out of the grasp of the under 16 team this game on Saturday 3rd September 2011 at Silverpark was a good physical game and an ideal preparation for the championship opener on 1st October. Crokes got off to a great start with points from Dara Ó Gallchobhair, Dónall Keane and Donncha Ó Murchú while Mark O'Loughlin was deadly accurate from frees. While well on top in the exchanges throughout the field some easy frees conceded allowed Na Fianna back into the game and Crokes were only a point ahead at half-time.

Crokes continued to play well in the second half and extended their lead with scores from Mark O'Loughlin, Cian MacGabhann, Mikey O'Dwyer and Edward Campion. A number of efforts were narrowly wide and another Fianna goal meant that the game was extremely competitive right up to the end. A goal by Dara Ó Gallchobhair after good work by Mark O'Loughlin left the result in no doubt however. The defence played extremely well throughout and great work by midfielders and the forwards resulted in some very well-worked scores.
