Death Notice Joan Roche (née O'Flynn) RIP

The Kilmacud Crokes Community is saddened to hear of the passing of Joan Roche.  Joan is mother to club member and volunteer Liam Roche. Liam was the Hurling lead for the 2008 group and also coached the 2009 group. Liam's son Tadgh is a current second year minor.  Liam, Tadgh and all Joan's extended family are in our thoughts and prayers and we  extend our sympathies and condolences to them at this sad time. May Joan rest in peace. 

On September 26, 2026 peacefully and surrounded by her loving family, Joan, formerly of Rossnalee.

Joan is survived by her cherished husband Steve with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. She was the beloved mother of Derek, Siobhán (Prendergast) and Liam; and adored Nana to Ciarán, Christopher, James, Grace, Evelyn and Tadhg.

Joan will be sadly missed by her sisters Mary (Murphy), Kathleen (Moylan) and Eileen (Lehane), brothers John, Liam and Tadhg. She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Rita, Sheila, Nan and Ann; her brothers-in-law Jim and Connie; her daughters-in-law Rosarie (Culloty), Fionnuala (Murphy) and her son-in-law Michael; nieces, nephews and a wide circle of dear friends. Joan was preceded in death by her brother Dermot and brother-in-law Jeremiah.

Reposing at Grace's Funeral Home Kanturk (P51 WDX8), on Monday from 6:30 pm with prayers at 8:30 pm. Reception into The Church of the Immaculate Conception Kanturk on Tuesday for Requiem Mass at 1 pm, which can be viewed live at the link provided. Funeral afterwards to Shannon Crematorium for a private service.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Joan's dearest friend Norrie O'Sullivan for the amazing kindness, support and compassion shown to Joan and her family throughout her long illness. Joan's family is also deeply grateful to Ber O'Leary, Mary O'Connor and all the wonderful staff in Kanturk Community Hospital; to Dr. Donal O'Riordan, Dr. Eunice and the staff of Egmont Medical Practice and to Duane's Pharmacy Kanturk; to the palliative team at Marymount Hospice; and to Professor Power and the team at the Mercy University Hospital for their excellent care of Joan.
