Junior B's v Naomh Fionbarra July 30

A 3-15 to 1-5 victory over Naomh Fionbarra at John Paul Park on 30th July confirmed Crokes place in the Junior B Hurling Championship semi-finals.

Crokes went into an early two point lead only for the Cabra side to go one clear with a tenth minute goal.  For the rest of the half Crokes dominated and two goals from Colm Maher and Mark Peacock saw them lead 2-7 to 1-3 at half time.

Crokes superiority was even more pronounced in the second half with two excellent points from  Colin Kearney leading up to an outstanding goal from David Stafford in the 38th minute.  Two minutes later the Finbarr’s right half forward registered the first of his team’s two second half scores with a Colm Maher pointed free sandwiched in between.  For the last fifteen minutes Crokes through points shared by Maher and Bryan O’Shaughnessy pulled further ahead even if goalkeeper John Barry was called upon to pull off one excellent save from the Finbarr’s number 10.  Others to shine were Gavin Hyland, David Staunton, Pat Kennedy, Mick Garvey and Seamus O’Hara.
