U11's in action v Ballygunner

Honours shared in Oatlands!

Ballygunner U11/12 hurlers from Waterford were coming up for the All-Ireland semi-final last Sunday to support their minor team and requested a challenge match against the Crokes. We were very happy to oblige and the home side managed to put together a mixed bag of mostly U11's along with a few U12's and U10's (Roisin from the camogie U10's also made a guest appearance). Both clubs had a squad of 30 so two evenly balanced 15-aside teams were chosen for two 30 minute games.

All 4 matches were very competive with Crokes winning 2 by a point and Ballygunner also gaining a narrow victory in the other 2 games. We all trooped off to Croke Park then for an incredible afternoons hurling - Well done to the Deise on reaching the minor final and hard luck to the Dubs who will surely be back next year.

As ever thanks to Fiona Hayes for organising the teas and coffees for our visitors
