Inters Complete League and Championship Double
On Sunday 27th November 2011 the intermediates had an early 10 am start at Ringsend taking on Clanna Gael in the AHL3 final.
A strong cross wind favoured the hosts in the opening half and they took full advantage to lead 0-5 to 0-1 at the break. Interval words produced the desired result and two goals proved vital as Crokes ran out 2-5 to 0-9 winners adding the league title to the championship won a few weeks back.
Crokes started poorly and only recorded a single point in the first half (0-5 to 0-1 in arrears). They showed what they are made of on the resumption and came out deserving winners in the end Mark Coghlan, Shane McNicholas and Fergal Armstrong were outstanding. Not far behind were Dillon Mulligan, Dave Canny, Aidan McCarthy and Kieran Murphy.
I would like to record a sincere thank you to all the players for their commitment and dedication throughout the year. It was a remarkable achievement to win the double. Enjoy the Christmas break, re-charge the batteries and look forward to greater things in 2012
