Inters Go Top of Group
This was another comfortable win away to Trinity Gaels in the round robin intermediate championship played under blustery conditions in Drumnigh Park on Sat evening 11th June 2011.
Playing against the wind in the first-half, Crokes led at half-time by 2-10 to 1-6 and went on to win by 3-18 to 2-9. This leaves us top of the group with one match against Commercials to play on July 20th. Bill O’Carroll made a very welcome return to championship hurling after his knee injury and put in a good performance at wing back. Richie Sweetman kept a safe goal and Declan Browne, Eoin de Paor, Andrew Hopkins, Fergal Armstrong, Brian Hanamy, Donal McGovern and our top scorer on the night, Alan Tiernan, who notched 2-3 all played well. The remaining scorers were F Armstrong 0-5(2f), D McGovern 1-2, P Clinton 0--2, A Carr 0-1, B Hanamy 0-1, C Sheehan 0-1, B O’Carroll 0-1, D Browne 0-1 and K Murphy 0-1.
