Inters Take Points

Body

Crokes conceded home advantage for this Division 3 clash with Clanna Gael at Ringsend Park on Friday April 1st 2011 and took the points with their first win of the season.  The opening period was dogged to say the least and the half ended even 0-5 to 1-2 scoreline. Clanna Gael took an early lead in the second-half but Crokes then took control and really stood up for the remainder of the game and finished very strong The team as a unit played really fine hurling.  Its always difficult to single out any one player for special mention but Conor Sheehan stood out and gave a power display from right half forward.  His work rate was immense and he never stopped working for the team.  Not far behind him were Mark Coghlan, Fergus Garvey, Dec Browne, Jude Sweeney and Shane McNicholas.  Midway through the second half Mark Coghlan made a great run through the middle and off-loaded to Daithi De Paor who made no mistake and rattled the back of the net for a cracking goal.  For the remainder of the game Crokes were in control and finished comfortable winners

Scorers were D Browne 0-5 (5f), D de Paor 1-2(1f), A Tiernan 0-2, M Dalton 0-1, C Sheehan 0-1, J Sweeney 0-1 and J Hayes 0-1.
