Brains Beat Brawn: Dub Stars Take the Crown at Hurling Quiz Night

More than 200 club members from all sections turned out to support the hurling quiz night; a great turnout that shows the strength of the club's community spirit.

Members of all ages took their seats with 45 teams battling it out over 10 rounds  

Questions ranged from hurling history, club trivia, general knowledge, a picture round and a music round, with plenty of friendly disagreements over the answers.

On the night the team of veteran Dublin hurling stars Caolán Conway, Fergal Whitely and Oisín O'Rorke came out on top. They were anchored by Junior B All-Star Mark Lynskey, the group’s intellectual anchor. Whether it was the county hurlers' knowledge or Mark's brainpower that carried the day, the rest of the room was left chasing them.

Quizmaster Peter Walsh put the substance to the questions and kept the evening flowing while Adrian Barry entertained as MC with Bill O’Carroll coaxing generous bids from the room.
