Back to winning ways for the Senior Hurlers

The senior hurlers got back to winning ways with a deserved 1-17 to 2-7 win over Faughs in the senior hurling league on Wednesday evening, 28th May 2008, in Silverpark.  Crokes raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead but by half time Faughs had come back into the game and trailed 0-10 to 0-5.  On the resumption the home team took charge and by the 50th minute had opened up a twelve point gap, the goal doubled to the net by Eoin Fitzgerald following good combination by Fergus Garvey and Neil Casey.  In the remaining ten minutes Faughs ran up 2-2 to Crokes’ 0-3.  Best for Crokes, in a game that saw the return to action of Hugh Gannon, were Willie Ryan, Adrian Grogan, Neil Casey and Eoin Fitzgerald
