U14s overwhelm Castleknock

  The Under 14's travelled to Porterstown on Saturday 13 June 2009, for their final Division 1 league match against Castleknock before the summer break.. The first half saw Crokes notch up a score of 6-12 to 1-01 by Castleknock. Mark O'Loughlin was in fine scoring form, clocking up a total of 4-05 in this half. Stephen Faughey netted once and put two more over the bar. Sean Bedford and Cathal Keane-Breslin scored two points each. Cian MacGabhann and David Kane also pointed. With Crokes dominating Castleknock could only respond with two scores.

 

In the second half Crokes continued to dominate. Substitute Donal Keane scored two fine goals in quick succession and also pointed once. Stephen Faughey pointed two more and substitute Dara O Gallchobhair netted a fine goal. Cian MacGabhann and David Kane again got a point each in this half. Castleknock were restricted only two further points, as goalkeeper Conor Hayes defended his goal well throughout.

 

Crokes eventually ran out easy winners by 9-18 to 1-03, finishing for the summer on a high note.
