U15s beat Cuala, 21 March 2010
Body
On a fresh Spring morning in Silverpark, conditions were almost perfect for hurling. Crokes U15’s took on near neighbours Cuala in their second league match of the season.
First half saw Crokes score 2-05 to Cuala’s 0-05. Crokes scores came from Mark O’Loughlin and Stephen Faughey. Eamonn Allen in the Crokes net put in some fine saves and one particularly notable clearance. The home side didn’t take all their scoring opportunities and should really have been well ahead at the short whistle.
Second half opened with an early goal by Ciaran McIntyre. This put Crokes three goals up. Cuala responded with two fine points. Score of the match came from Michael O’Dwyer, who ran the length of the pitch to score a fine point, bringing loud cheers from the home fans. Mark O’Loughlin added a further two points from frees. The last 15 minutes saw heavy Cuala pressure, in which they scored 1-02. The backs held firm and Crokes ran out winners in the end by 3-09 to 1-09.
