U14 A Hurlers league game v Vincents.....
The U14 Hurlers played St Vincents away at PNU on Saturday 11/9. Playing against the wind in the first half Crokes struggled to get into a consistent pattern of hurling. Although leading by 1-3 to 0-3 by the end of the half Vincents were well in the game at that stage. Eamon Allen, Mark McCallion and Tom Duke were to the fore in keeping a game Vincents attack at bay while Des Dagg covered enormous areas of the pitch.
The second half saw Crokes putting together some great scores with the forwards finally coming alight. Sean Keating and Shane Veale threw over some great points in quick succession and the former shot a great goal to the back of the net. Peter Herlihy (0-2) and Eoin McMahon got through an amount of work while Des Dagg continued to dominate midfield. Cilian O' Shea managed to completely curtail Vincents 'danger man' in the second half while Mark Mcallion gave an outstanding display of powerful hurling throughout.
The elements didn't favour Vincents as the wind made it difficult for them to clear their lines and the final score was K.Crokes 3-9 , St Vincents 0-3
