Inters Maintain Upward Trajectory
This match was played under strong wind conditions at Silverpark on Wednesday evening 8th June 2011 but nevertheless it was a very competitive game. Playing against the wind in the first half Crokes were behind at the break by 8 points to 7 and played some excellent hurling in that period. Daibhi de Paor came on for the injured Dave Canny who collided with Aidan Mc Carthy and the Fingallians full forward after only 15 minutes. Declan Browne went to centre-back with Ray Mangan going to full.
The second half was a much different affair with Crokes getting gradually on top and finishing out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 0-19 to 0-9. Ray Mangan, Declan Browne, Sean Murphy and Damien Byrne were rock solid in defence. Eddie O’Byrne and Hugh Gannon formed a good partnership in mid-field and up front Fergal Armstrong was outstanding. Not far behind were Daibhi De Paor, Alan Tiernan, Peter Clinton and Conor Sheehan.
Scorers for Crokes were F Armstrong 0-7 (5f), D De Paor 0-3, A Tiernan 0-2, E O’ Byrne 0-2, D McGovern 0-1, D Browne 0-1, M Dalton 0-1, C Sheehan 0-1 and P Clinton 0-1
