Inters Well In League Hunt

Body

Crokes started slowly in this AHL3 encounter with Round Towers at the Community Centre Clondalkin on Monday 11th July 2011 but came to life in the second half to collect another brace of points.

Even though the scores were level at half-time at 4 points each Crokes did not play that well.  The second half showed a dramatic improvement and the Stillorgan team ran out winners on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-9.  Eoin de Paor and Dillon Mulligan were very effective at mid-field and Fergal Armstrong was very accurate from frees and general play.  The backs as a unit played very well all through.  Niall Lillis, Ray Mangan and Damien Byrne were the pick.  Up front Fergal Armstrong, Alex Pilkington, Alan Tiernan and Daibhi de Paor did well.  Caolan Conway came on for Kieran Murphy in the second half and showed good promise.

With two regulation games left Crokes are in third place on 13 points, two behind the leaders St Vincents and one behind second placed Clanna Gael who are scheduled to play each other on 23rd July 2011.  Crokes final two games are fixed against Naomh Olafs (23rd July at home) and St Vincents  on 13th August at home.

Scorers for Crokes were F Armstrong 0-8 (f-6, 65-1), E De Paor 0-3, A Pilkington 0-2, D De Paor 0-1 and C Sheehan 0-1
