Membership Advisory

I am writing to advise you that the Club Executive is at the point of submitting a planning application to develop Silver Park so as to optimise that facility for training and match purposes. I have spoken at Club and section AGM’s about this project on many occasions. The application will be submitted in the next few days

In summary we will be applying for permission (a) to create a floodlit all weather pitch on Silver Park 2, (b) floodlight Silver Park 1 and to replace our long overdue current dressing rooms with a modern facility, built on a fit for purpose design to accommodate both male and female players. It will be slightly relocated to enhance traffic flow.

I want to emphasise that no decision has been made to commit the club to any expenditure. Any decision as to whether we proceed to develop Silver Park will be taken by members following a comprehensive consultation process and EGM. What is happening at this stage is that the Club Executive is seeking to create the opportunity for development along the lines I have set out above.

We anticipate that the planning application will be made in the next few days and the detailed documentation will then be available on the DLRCC website. We will also make the detailed application available on our own member communication channels. In the event of receiving permission we would welcome the assistance of any members who can input to the management, construction and funding of this important development for the club.
