The Hurling Committee is currently revising our website, social media presence and communications to the hurling family at large and has recently embarked on fund raising activities for this purpose.

We have been very fortunate that Microsoft Corporation, which has a centre of excellence employing thousands of people just around the corner from us in Sandyford, very kindly made products available for us to raffle as part of this activity.

The Microsoft WebCam, Headset and Wireless Mouse were used as prizes in a raffle which took place at a table quiz night in April.

A fabulous Xbox 360 Console, Kinect for Xbox 360 and 6 games were put up as the major prize in a further raffle, for which tickets were sold at our annual Mini All-Ireland series in June. Further prizes included €75 cash for 2nd place and 3rd prize of a €50 voucher, was kindly donated by our own local retailer, Nimble Fingers in Stillorgan.

The draw for this raffle took place on 24th July at the Hurling Committees meeting and Carrie Sweeney, Manager Global Reverse Logistics for Microsoft Operations Ireland, very kindly joined us to pull out the winning tickets.

Peter Walsh, Hurling Section Chairman, stated, "Carrie, on behalf of Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Committee, I would like to extend to you, and to Microsoft, our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the very generous gifts recently donated. It is truly fantastic that such a desirous prize would be made available by an international organisation such as Microsoft to a local volunteer group such as ours. It is not without coincidence that this gift from one of the largest IT companies in the world will be the basis for providing the funds to further our development and initiatives in this area also. Again, a very sincere thank you for making this happen".

Peter further commented, “It is also noteworthy to mention the support received from our own local retailer, Nimble Fingers, who has very kindly made available to us an excellent prize of a €50 voucher, which is also very much appreciated.”
