Busy weekend for U13's

Body
U13 Div 1 League. The 2 Div 1 teams had mixed fortunes on Saturday, the losing team probably getting slightly more out of the experience. KC1 were 2-3 to 1-2 down at half time away to Vincents having played with a strong wind in the first half. They needed to battle in the second half and battle they did. The 4 point deficit was turned into a 2 point lead with 15 minutes to play but unfortunately Vincents rallied and scored 2-3 to Crokes 2 points in the last quarter. Final Score Vincents 4-8 Crokes 3-6. Best performers were Mark O'Rourke, Johnny Maher, Conor McNicholas, Killian Lanigan and Conal Keane. KC2 were made work hard against Lucan before coming away with the points. Lucan led by 2 points at half time but some judicious positional switches saw better possession into our forward line and the ensuing 4 goals from Alex Considine put the result beyond doubt. Final Score Crokes 4-11 Lucan 1-8. Best performers were Jim Gibbons, Alex Considine, Brian Grogan, Cathal Keane and Ronan Hayes. On Sunday Kilkenny legend John Power brought his charges from John Lockes in Callan to Silver Park to take on the U13A team. Crokes opened up a commanding early wind assisted half time lead of 3-7 to 0-4 thanks to a solid half back display by Mark O'Rourke, Darragh Butler and Johnny Maher together with good fast ball delivery by Stevie O'Dwyer and Michael Frawley in the half forward line. Alex Considine was too good for the 6ft Callan full back and profited mostly from the quality of ball being played in. Callan rallied in the 2nd half scoring 2-5 to 'Crokes 2-4 but the result was never in doubt. Others to impress were Adam Tuck, Cathal Keane and Conor McNicholas. Final Score Crokes 5-11 Callan 2-9. Team: Adam Tuck, Conor McNicholas, Cathal Keane, Killian Lanigan, Mark O'Rourke, Darragh Butler, Johnny Maher, Fiachra Tucker, Ronan Hayes, Michael Frawley, Stevie O'Dwyer, Fergal Whitely, Cillian Fleming, Alex Considine, Michael Roche. Subs used: Chris Kealy, Oisin Doherty, Jim Gibbons, Stephen McEntee, Sean Gorman, Aidan Healy
