Kilmacud Crokes U15 Club Tournament festival

Eire Og from Nenagh ran out the winners of the first ever Kilmacud Crokes U-15 all Ireland club tournament at Glenalbyn. In a tense final they just edged out Ballygunner from Waterford by 5 points to 4. For Eire Og Sean Geary was top scorer with 3 points.

Click here to see some images of the U15 Festival of Hurling In a thrilling semi-final Ballygunner managed to get the better of host club Kilmacud by 3-06 to 3-05. Ballygunner had the better of the early exchanges and went in at half time leading by 3-03 to 1-03. The Crokes came out for the second half with purpose and within 5 minutes had reduced the deficit to four points with a point from from Neil Gorey and a superbly worked goal finished off by  the same player.
Ballygunner rallied and scored 2 points without reply but a superb solo effort by Oisin O’Rourke rasied the green flag for the Crokes and within a minute the sides were level with a superb pointed effort from Caolan Conway.
The last 5 minutes were end to end and Crokes had enough chances to seal the win but a pointed free form 45 mtrs was enough to see Ballygunner through to the final.

Neil Gorey - 1-01
Caolan Conway - 0-02.
In the first round Kilmacud overcame Naomh Eanna form Gorey by 5-13 to 1-04.
In the plate final Emeralds of Kilkenny overcame Whitehall Colmcille by 2-13 to 2-05.
Clubs taking part in the tournament included Cuala, Whitehall Colmcille, Ballygunner (Waterford), Raparees and Naomh Eanna (Wexford), Nenagh Eire Og (Tipperary) Emearls (Kilkenny) as well as the host club Kilmacud Crokes.
