Naomh Mearnóg too strong for U14B's
Body
Played under lights on a fast, firm surface at InnisFails, Balgriffin. A tightly contested and competitive first half saw Crokes go into an early lead through a well taken Daniel Keegan goal. However, Mearnog's very strong centrefield brought them back into contention and they began to assert control. Despite points from Killian Lannigan, Adam Tuck, Stephen Crossan and a brace of frees from Mattie Hogan we went in to the break trailing 1-6 to 2-7. Unfortunately Mearnog were able to press on in the 2nd half, dominating the centre of the park and pepperring our goal with shots resulting in some fine scores. We struggled to win possesion and failed to convert the few chances we got near the end of the game. The scoreline finished 1-6 to 3-13. Valiiant defensive efforts from Cathal Keane in goal and Hugh Campion, Ciaran Hennessy and Stephen McEntee in particular
