U13s beat Boden

Kilmacud Crokes V Ballyboden  - Hermitage Park.     3.30.        25th April, 2009.

With Tadgh Murphy back in the No. 1 jersey, the rest of the Crokes players knew their own goal was safe.  The keeper fired shots to the forwards allowing Barney Sultan, Michael Crowley, Shane Veale, Eamon Allen, Tom Duke and Lorcan Tucker to score 3 goals and 6 points in the first half.   Tadgh Murphy is the man to watch and fear if you are on the opposing team.  Ballyboden’s fowards made life hard for  Sean Crowe, Stephen Doyle and Daniel Coakley, but their determination and ability kept the Ballyboden score down to 1:6 at half time.  Hard work by Mark McCallion, Ryan Murphy and Eoin Keane kept the sting out of the ballyboden forwards who had broken through the Crokes half back line.

Half Time: 3:6 to 1:6

Second half started a little slow for Crokes with Ballyboden scoring 2 early points.   With gentle enthusiasm from the side line mentors (!) Crokes took to their heels, Captain Peter Herlihy worked hard  sending balls up to Shane Veale who scored 2 points within about 5 minutes and then scoring a beauty of a goal. Adam O’Neill who worked hard throughout the game scored a point, followed by another point by Shane Veale.  Ronan Kennedy, Sean Keating and Eoin McMahon came on in the 2nd half and gave great support to the team and causing problems for the Ballyboden side. Last point of the match was from Eamon Allen.   Overall it was great team work from every single player that led to this victory against old rivals Ballyboden.

Full time score: 5:11 to 2:8
