U14B's beat Faughs in great Division 2 League battle

Brilliant sunshine greeted the two teams in this highly entertaining contest in Pairc de Burca. Faughs took the initiative in the first 10 mins and took several points. However with our defence having steadied we began to exert pressure in centrefield. A free from Calum Pearson and a fine point from play from Fiachra Tucker were the taster for several well worked moves culminating in three superb goals from full-forward Michael Frawley-two of them one handed efforts displaying his considerable strength. This left it 3-2 to 0-6 at the interval.

Sterling work in defence from the Crokes full and half-back lines kept Faughs contained and despite the concession of two goals we kept the scoreboard ticking over with fine points from Calum Pearson and Mattie Hogan. Relentless pressure and concerted teamwork allowed Michael Frawley to add another 1-1 to his first half haul. Fiachra Tucker was on target twice and second half sub Conor Walsh also raised the flag twice with two excellent scores, the second a beauty after some great interplay with Hogan.

Crokes ended up winners 4-9 to 2-8 with excellent contributions from all and especially from  Louis de Courcy, Adam Tuck, Oisin Doherty and Martin Connor
