Under 16's Winning Start

Body

A bright sunny afternoon in Shanganagh saw Crokes avenge their 2009 under 15 championship defeat with a fourteen point league Divison 1 win over Cuala on 6th March 2010.

Crokes were very quick out of traps and led 1-10 to 0-4 after seventeen minutes. During this period the winners were dominant in almost every area with the full forward line of Neil Gorey, Barry Horan and Conor Devins looking particularly dangerous and wing forward Caolan Conway unerring from play and frees. They then took their foot off the pedal and no further scores were recorded in the half.

As a result midfielder Oisin O'Rorke was obliged to spend a lot of time in defence where he was ably assisted by Daibhid Corish, Conor J O'Dwyer and James Murphy while net minder Conor Sweeny was well up to the task. Two late goals from Barry Horan, to secure his hat trick, varnished the final scoreline.
