U12A TOURNAMENT

James Stephens 2-3    Kilmacud Crokes 1-2
A great battle in which Crokes peppered the James Stephens' goal for the last five minutes but couldn't break through.
Scorers: Alex Considine 0-2, Brian Grogan 1-0

Na Fianna 1-4       Kilmacud Crokes 1-0
Another tight tough game that the eventual tournament winners just about deserved their narrow victory.

Na Piarsaigh 7-4        Kilmacud Crokes 2-4

The final scoreline was a bit flattering to Na Piarsaigh in a game that Crokes had plenty of the play put were not as clinical in their finishing as the winners.

This was a high quality tournament where we competed admirably with the best teams in the country at this age group. Every player involved came out with credit and a knowledge that they are not far away from the best that is out there. The next major focus is on a repeat of this tournament involving the same teams in Glenalbyn on May 24th.
I the meantime

U12B Tournament

Played in perfect conditions our B team won two out of three games but were just edged out into 2nd place overall, losing out on points difference to group winners Na Piarsaigh.

Having narrowly lost out to some late scores from James Stephens they displayed great heart to regroup and win over old rivals Na Fianna while claiming the scalp of Na Piarsiagh in a tight competitive game was the highlight of a most enjoyable outing. Many thanks to the U11's who got the call-up (and performed admirably) due the absence of many of our regulars.

Bryan Cooke was calm in goals and mastered the puck-outs on the tight pitches. Tom Fox was very impressive at full back, mopping up and launching some great attacks. There were steady displays in defence from Tom Bruen and Hugh Campion. Half backs Mattie Hogan and Oisin Doherty were strong coming forward with Mattie again showing his prowess at side-line cuts. Excellent all-round display from Michael Roche who also managed to get on the score sheet a few times with skillfull upfield breaks. At centrefield, Jim Gibbons and Ronan Hayes broke lots of ball and were also tireless in their tracking back. Half forwards Sean Gorman and John Maher worked hard and connected on lots of balls with Sean managing to net one through some traffic against James Stephens. Conor Walsh had a fantastic game and made several incisive breaks. Front men Joey Dalton and Conall Keane claimed most of our scores, latching on to good possession fed through from behind. Conor Kelly was particularily impre ssive in the final game vs Na Piarsaigh, nabbing 3 fine points from play. Khalil Siegrist and Daniel Keegan provided fresh impetus and cover over the three games as they rotated in/out.

KC 2-0 James Stephens 3-2
