U12 Hurlers Xmas swim & medal presentation

On Saturday, 13th December the U12 Hurlers went for a Christmas dip in Glenalbyn pool. They were suitably marshalled by Kieran Gowing, (sporting some unusual swim gear!) Declan Herlihy and Kevin Coakley. All survived the hour and a good time was had by the boys.

We then transferred to the hurling arena for the presentation of the league winners and runners up medals to the Div 1 and Div 6 teams, respectively. Kevin spoke to the group and emphasised what a good year it had been for the boys and how enjoyable it had been for the mentors to be involved with them. The remaining prizes from the joint football/hurling quiz night were drawn and some parents may be getting phones or dry cleaning vouchers as their Christmas gifts this year!!

Finally, we had a group photo (see below) and the boys were given selection boxes as they left.

On behalf of the mentors I would like to thank all of the parents for their support throughout the year and look forward to another great hurling year in 2009.
